Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), through its e-Learning Centre, Mysuru, has launched the Simulation Enabled Experiential Learning (SEEL) platform, a next-generation digital learning ecosystem designed to bridge the gap between engineering education and industry requirements.
SEEL integrates advanced engineering simulation, virtual laboratories, artificial intelligence, certification programmes, internships, webinars, workshops, mock interviews, and industry-oriented projects to provide students, researchers, and faculty with practical, hands-on learning experiences that enhance technical competency and employability.
Speaking on the occasion, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, VTU, Dr. S. Vidyashankar, said that engineering education is rapidly evolving towards experiential and technology-enabled learning. He noted that the SEEL platform will provide students with access to world-class digital laboratories, AI-enabled learning, industry-oriented certifications, and practical learning opportunities, enabling them to become globally competent engineers.
Dr. P. Sandhya, Director, VTU e-Learning Centre, highlighted that SEEL combines simulation technologies, artificial intelligence, and experiential learning into a unified digital ecosystem that prepares students to solve real-world engineering challenges through innovation and research.
The SEEL ecosystem includes six specialized platforms:
Aligned with NEP 2020, SEEL promotes digital transformation, outcome-based education, multidisciplinary learning, innovation, and enhanced employability. The platform will support engineering education across manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, electronics, renewable energy, healthcare, civil infrastructure, and other emerging technology sectors while fostering stronger industry–academia collaboration
Strengthening Industry–Academia Collaboration
The launch of SEEL reflects VTU's continued commitment to promoting innovation, digital learning, and stronger industry-academia collaboration. By integrating advanced engineering simulation with experiential education, the University aims to equip students with the practical competencies required by modern industries. The platform supports learning across manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, electronics, renewable energy, healthcare, civil infrastructure, and other emerging technology sectors.
SEEL is fully aligned with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) by promoting outcome-based education, multidisciplinary learning, digital transformation, innovation-driven pedagogy, and enhanced employability among engineering graduates.
VTU invites students, faculty members, researchers, industry professionals, and technology partners to actively participate in this initiative and leverage the opportunities offered through the SEEL platform.
